I am born and raised in Carrum Downs as the eldest of four, with two younger brothers and a four year old sister. Growing up, the Carrum Downs "Cougars: Cricket Club was like a second home to me, as both my parents are life members, as you can imagine I spent countless weekends there.
My high school years were enriched by my involvement with the local youth group at the Lyrebird Community Centre, which fostered a strong sense of community in me.
From working at Carrum Downs KFC at 14 to pouring beers at the Sands Hotel when I turned 18. I have always been committed and will continue to be committed to my community.
My entire family remains deeply connected to Carrum Downs. My mother works at Carrum Downs Secondary College, my middle brother owns his own business based in Carrum Downs, and my youngest brother is making us all proud as a member of the Australian Defence Force, serving in the Airforce.
I began my educational journey at Rowellyn Kindergarten and Rowellyn Park Primary School. In 2004, I had the privilege of being part of the inaugural year at Carrum Downs Secondary College, where I graduated in 2009. In 2011, I earned a Diploma of Management, then my bachelor, and in 2015, I completed my Master's Degree from RMIT. In 2021, I further expanded my expertise by obtaining a Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, which has since become my primary field of work.
Currently, I work in the area of Safety and Culture, driven by a strong passion for governance and compliance. By the end of 2023, I achieved a significant milestone by establishing my own business, specialising in Safety. My focus is to also ensure that businesses do what is legislated while achieving those results without the never ending red tape and bureaucracy.
I’ve been with my husband for 11 years, and we’ve been married for three. In 2022, we welcomed our son, Callan, who is now two years old and in October 2024 we welcomed our second son Cormac. Family is at the heart of everything I do and we often spend our time exploring new places and attending fun family events together.
Looking back, I want to feel proud knowing I’ve done everything possible to give my children the best life and to show them that with determination and support, anything is possible. The most important thing is that we lift each other up in all our life endeavors.
